Great Places to Dine Out in Dallas
Get Out and Taste Something New!
The city of Dallas is one of the largest cities in the country and recognized for a distinct skyline as well as decadent eating. If you’re looking for some tips on favorite restaurants and best places for a good meal, check out some of the top-rated locales below.
At Smoky Rose, it’s all about the meat, and the smoked brisket is featured throughout the menu. Try it in the queso, as a street taco, or in enchiladas. Or, check out chicken fried brisket, a unique and incredible dish. Be sure to pair your plate with some Smoky Rose slaw, jalapeno hush puppies, or fried okra. Try some Dr. Pepper sheet cake for dessert, or go with the more traditional Texas pecan pie or peach cobbler for dessert.
Maya’s Modern Mediterranean
If you’re looking for fresh, healthy ingredients full of flavor, head over to Maya’s Modern Mediterranean. Order family style or individually, and partake of tons of delicious Mediterranean inspired dishes. Hummus and babaganoush are staples of the traditional menu, with lentil soup and an array of kebob and schawarma options available. The falafel is air-baked, as are the chickens strips. The lemon-garlic and tahini sauces complement any meal.
Maybe one of the best things about Hello Dumpling is knowing that the noodles are being handmade in the kitchen. The Dallas Observer has recognized the flavorful menu on multiple occasions, so why shouldn’t you? We love the shrimp with zucchini dumplings, as well as the chicken and rice dumplings. Try the sesame noodles, or snack on the crispy basil chicken bites. Be sure to try the matcha milk tea, and save room for a banana or mango dumpling for dessert.
For a good time and excellent Tex-Mex made to blow your mind, visit El Vecino. Get the margarita of the month on every visit, and pair it with steak nachos or spinach mushroom quesadillas to start the meal off. Our favorite dish is Mexican-Style Lasagna, layered with chicken, corn tortillas, Monterey jack cheese and corn in a Poblano cream sauce. And you can’t go wrong with traditional fajitas. For dessert, top it off with churros con cajeta.
Cubans really know how to eat, and you’ll discover that instantly at the Havana Café. Try traditional appetizers like yucca frita and croquetas, and stick to the basics with the famous Cuban sandwich. Branch out into other well known dishes, including our favorite, ropa vieja, or arroz con pollo. Seafood is excellent as well, especially the Varadero Beach combo, with grilled fish and shrimp in cilantro garlic sauce. And you must have a guava pastelito for dessert!
